'25: A Kaleidoscope
In this space between words and art, we seek the nuanced conversations that emerge when diverse voices collide and harmonize. How many languages can live in a single story? What worlds breathe in the margins of our collective imagination? Each narrative we explore becomes a bridge that challenges and elucidates how we understand one another — revealing the extraordinary, hidden within the ordinary.
As our contributors have charted unexpected landscapes, this issue has blossomed into a living dialogue. From Ian S. ’24’s invented language in “After the Storm” to the collaborative rhythms of our Tanzania Global Service Learning group’s “Dusty Roads,” we are excited to invite you to see the world through a kaleidoscope of human experiences.

2023-24:
New Year, New Issue
In Winter '23, we turned to the certainty of the unknowable in the face of the unknown. With stories of Prometheus and Narcissus, dragons, Rapunzel, the Damned and the Divine, and traditions as time-honored as Caileen W. ’27’s “Late-Night Snack,” it has been our honor to share with you a collection of work that experiments with the confluence of the natural and supernatural, real and surreal, life and legend. These are the stories that ground us, reminding us where we come from and, perhaps, hinting at what lies ahead.

LAPS x IMAGO
Last Spring, Imago celebrated Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month with a special manga issue made in collaboration with LAPS featuring stories about AAPI cultures and experiences. Bryan C. '24 created a poster for the occasion, Zara Z. '24 illustrated portraits of Asian American pioneers for the cover, and groups of students worked together to write and illuminate five stories in graphic form.

A 2022 Poster Camp(aign)
For Summer '22, we teamed up with friends of fellow Imago to create campy collective campus posters with color and candor. Featuring designs from Nate C. '22, Sydney L. '22, and Toby Z. '23, these limited-edition designs give nods to Massimo Vignelli, 90's Nike sneaker ads, Hollywood movie posters and Santorini, Greece. The pieces were posted in main thoroughfares around campus and donated to their respective buildings after the issue.
